Wireless Systems
With the advanced and continual evolution of wireless networking technology it is now possible to affordably install high resolution video cameras even kilometres apart. A number of wireless technologies and system configurations is possible, depending on the distance, the line of site, and of course the project’s objectives.
An ever-increasing number of projects is utilising partial or full wireless architecture. With the cost of wireless technology reducing and the performance ever improving, we are seeing a greater demand for wireless systems every year.
These are ideal in situations where it is very hard or very expensive to install cable infrastructure. Examples are outdoor public areas, heritage buildings, industrial sites, parking stations, building to building communications, and remote locations.
Four main wireless configurations tend to be used. These include:
- Point-to-point, with each camera using a P2P Bridge (left) and Point-to-multipoint, with single Access Point receiver and multiple camera Wireless Bridges (right).
- Mesh wireless network (left) with multiple wireless Access Point Nodes making it ideal when obstructions in the requires area coverage are present, and 4G/LTE cellular system (right) for longer range and remote applications.
We have extensive experience with top tier wireless network brands and wireless projects across many verticals. We’d be happy to advise you on the best solution for your networking challenges. Contact us for more information.
